Energy

Our practice as legal counsels encompasses all matters pertaining to the generation of electrical power or useful energy. We have extensive experience in the planning, setup, and operation of plants on the basis of both renewable and conventional energy.

In the field of renewable energy, we advise project developers, plant manufacturers and operators in the areas of off-shore and on-shore wind power, photovoltaics, biomass and hydropower. We support all steps of project implementation from the initial project idea to successful realization and operation and, in addition, transactions such as the purchase and sale of wind parks and solar parks.

In the field of conventional energy, too, we offer a comprehensive service that starts with planning law, encompasses the licensing process and procurement law consulting, and extends to the drafting and negotiation of all agreements for setting up a power plant up to and including the drafting of the purchasing agreements for the primary raw material.

In addition to energy contracting, another main focus of our practice is the drafting and negotiation of agreements for the provision of useful energy (heat, steam, cold) and electricity.

In the area of grids, we advise regional administrative bodies and energy supply companies with regard to right-of-way agreements and grid takeovers. We deal with all issues pertaining to grid access and grid use fees from the point of view of energy supply companies, project developers, companies and municipalities.

One of our areas of specialization is the economic optimization of the energy supply of companies through correspondingly advantageous plant configurations and carefully planned power stations and energy supply concepts including CO2 management.

In all areas, we handle complete legal advice in connection with the construction process.
