Dr. Carsten Oelrichs


Carsten Oelrichs was born on the island of Helgoland in 1966. He started his professional career with an industrial management training before he completed his legal education at the University of Hamburg, where he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Commercial, Shipping and Business Law. In 1998, he wrote his dissertation ("Participation of Creditors and Voting Ban in the New Insolvency Proceedings") and joined ZENK as a lawyer. 

He concentrates on food law, competition law and trademark law. He is a frequent speaker and publisher in the field of food law (i.a. he is the co-author of the "Münchener Kommentar zum UWG" and of the "Praxishandbuch Lebensmittelkennzeichnung").He is a member of the legal committee of the German Federation of Food Law and Food Science (Bund für Lebensmittelrecht und Lebensmittelkunde e.V. (BLL)) and in the BLL’s working committee “Dietary Supplements”. 

Carsten Oelrichs has been listed by JUVE for many years now as a leading name in the food law sector. He was also listed among the best commercial lawyers 2015 in the sections “Competition law” and “Food law” in Germany, who are determined every year by the US-American publisher Best Lawyers and published by the German commercial journal “Handelsblatt”. In addition, in the sector "Advertising". He was ranked lawyer of the year 2013.
