Jan-Christian Schröder, born in Hamburg in 1992, studied law in Hamburg and worked alongside his studies as a research assistant at a medium-sized law firm specializing in public construction and planning law.
He completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Celle, including placements at ZENK and with the Hamburg Economic Authority in the area of environmental economic policy. In 2021, he passed his second state law examination. In 2025, he earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Sustainability Law—Energy, Resources, Environment from Leuphana University of Lüneburg.
Jan-Christian Schröder has been an attorney at ZENK since 2021 and has been a salary partner since 2026.
He practices public construction and planning law, advising on and supporting construction projects. As a specialist in sector-specific planning and environmental law, he primarily advises project developers and permitting authorities on infrastructure projects subject to planning approval procedures. Another area of his practice involves advising energy suppliers, project developers, and investors on energy industry law, particularly regarding the development of renewable energy projects.
In real estate transactions, he reviews the public law aspects as part of the due diligence process.
